By asking questions we go though the book trying to find out what Baby is! Baby is not an crocodile that is silent and scary.... Nor is Baby a Hippo with yawning jaws. Ohh what can baby be???

The Illustrations are paintings of zoo-like animals with peculiar details to seem more realistic. They are the exact color of the animal and are not a shade off. The animals drawn, cover the majority of the page to bring more attention to the artwork itself.

I have chosen Kindergarten as my grade and Science as my content area. I would use this book to read before our class talks about life science. I would build my lesson on living and nonliving things. I would start with animals; using this book, I would let the children tell me if the animals are living or nonliving. Then, let them tell me what they would need to survive.
