As the little boy sits in the garden, his mother picks potatoes. He spots something moving in the meadow. He claims there is a lion, but his mother just thinks he is making up stories. In return, the mother makes up her own story. To our surprise, her story becomes a reality when she finds her little boy hiding with the lion in the cupboard. Where did the lion come from and is the little boy in trouble?
The illustrations have been based on a small family house, located beside a big meadow with tall flowing grass .The figures of the lion and little boy are distorted and self taught. They only present to the reader as two-dimensional. The colors are blurred together on some pages, and even the grass in the story resembles a sea of green.
I have chosen First Graders and Science as my content area. I would help the children create a timeline of events that happened in the story. Starting with the little boy being inside the garden with his mother, then finishing with the bedtime stories in the end. Once we figure out the sequence of events, I can quiz the children on how the lion got into the house!
