Out of this World

ON THE MOON
Written by Anna Milbourne
Illustrated by Benji Davies
Osborne Publishing, 2004
32 Pages
Historical Fiction

This book lets you blast into outer space for a learning experience. They show you what its like to travel to the moon, Walk on the moon, and lastly see the earth form the moon. You are in for a treat when you read this book. We have the opportunity to learn about the different feet that have touched this spectacular planet-like space.

The illustrations make it almost realistic, as if you are on the moon itself. the colors of the sky is a milky blue, set for the stars to shine right off the page when present.

I would use this in Social Studies for second grade. I would teach them about multiple famous people that have had the chance to step foot on our moon. We would go into space and talk about the stars, comets, and even different founding we have found from exploring the great unknown.
